We are a boutique search firm based on a few core areas, particularly where economics and markets meet. Our research staff focus on blue-skies analysis researching teams at places such as the IMF or ECB in the public sector. In the private sector we recruit and research across banking, asset management, consultancy and hedge fund teams. This broad background work means we are fully prepared before major searches begin at which point the research can be tailored to each project.
Our senior consultants focus on the ‘selection’ stage, luring out top talent and ensuring the quality of short-lists to make certain candidates are fully briefed and motivated by opportunities.
We are veterans of all recruitment styles – networking to generate references, advertising to create interest, directly contacting candidates and cold-calling businesses to uncover hard to find talent.
We also have a high profile in markets and economics from sponsoring various Hedge Fund Awards, Asset Management Awards, Society of Business Economists, DGF Research etc.
Chris Apostolou, Managing Director & Founder, previously worked at JPMorgan, Mizuho, Fathom Consulting and Kaupthing Bank. He trained in traditional Retained Search, headhunting CIOs & PMs before starting Arbitrage Search in 2011.
Rick Robinson, Europe Director, started his career as a journalist before spending 8 years in asset management recruitment where he has recruited every type of front office role possible, he joined Arbitrage in early 2014.
We employ a team of researchers who work on blue-sky research to support our core areas of macro, markets and econometricians/quants. They constantly map areas such as IMF, ECB staff, hedge fund coverage, investment bank sales, analysts and traders, asset management teams, Latam coverage in sales and trading, Economists worldwide.
For example our Guide to Independent Macro Research Providers was distributed to 2,000 CIOs & Heads of Fixed Income and Research in 2016 by hard copy, worldwide. This included summary trade ideas for 2016, trading history in 2015 and skills of the relevant consulting firms. If you would like to see a copy of this and are managing money from a macro perspective, please email firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will post you a copy.
